Possibly because rear-projection TVs take up acres of space, consume a lot of power, and produce a hazy, washed-out picture with peculiar colour gradations.
Seriously, I know there are good rear-projection sets out there, but I have never seen one to match the quality of an LCD or plasma set.
HD projector is my choice…
With a 119″ screen;)
LCD are too crappy or expensive.
HD rear projection is better, but not the best and some models have really low contrast.
I don’t like LCDs (too expensive still) but rear projections aren’t that great either (the picture quality isn’t that good). However, I love the DLP tvs. They are cheaper than LCDs or Plasma and have good picture quality. They are also only a little more expensive than the old fashioned rear projections and are more compact. (i.e. you can get a good sized screen and it doesn’t take up half your room)
because they have a much longer life span and have a much better picture,in total i’ve spent about 30k on home theatre but i use a lcd projector with short throw lens and a screen that with a flick of a switch it roles up and there’s my walk in woredrobe as the projectoer screen take up the whole wall,it’s awsome.
size matters.
i work at sony and the rear pojection tvs cost more but they will last longer the truth about lcds is they work for 2 years then the picture quality will start to get really bad and to fix it will cost u alot so go for the rear projection. try a sony sxrd
