what kind of tv should i buy?
my sony tv just died, the tv repair man did the autopsy and recommended i just buy a new one because mine would cost around $1000 to fix. This tv only lasted about four years and i paid $2700 for it. That sony tv gave me problems from the beginning and I will never buy another sony tv. It was a 50 inch projection XBR series. so now im gonna go get a new one but what brands are good and known to be user friendly and trouble free. Should I buy an LCD or another DLP. Im not getting a plasma. I want a 1080P and atleast 50 inch. what brands are good

Sorry to hear that. I do NOT recommend any Sony product to anyone! My wife’s Sony Vaio Laptop battery was toast in less than 3 years and she could not get a replacement, My Sony Vaio desktop computer hard drive crashed in less than 3 years and my Sony wireless headphones rechargeable battery pack went dead and could not get replacement!
On TV on Consumer Help segment a consumer had a Sony XBR rear projection TV that had a screen turn green in less than 2 years. Sony would replace part but would cost him labor and said the part would need replacing in another 2 years!
I have an LG LCD HDTV and the picture is great at 780p (which is the TV broadcast, not 1080p). My friends say the pic looks like it is a more expensive TV!
The newer LED TVs are thinner, lighter weight, deeper blacks and therefore more vibrant color.
Just as important or more so is the true motion 240Hz technology (as opposed to 60Hz that most HDTVs are) that eliminates motion blur.
I recommend LG, Toshiba or Samsung
I would suggest get LCD instead of DLP. Good brand that I would recommend is Samsung.

why not plasma? plasma has better image quality then LCD.
