The scratches are pretty shallow, and I was wondering if you could maybe fill them or use the same techniques used in eyeglass & windshield repair.

Projection TV, when turned on, there is a beeping going on for like 5 seconds, and then it goes away, nothing comes up on screen, no sound, no nothing. And can’t turn on or off repeatedly unless power is taken away and then reapplied over and over again. please help

I was in the TV repair business for many years, many years ago. It became hard to make a living because at that time you could replace a TV nearly as cheap as repairing but With the cost of the new LCD’s & Plasmas I’m thinking it may be a good time to jump back into the business and was wondering what test equipment I would need to service these units.

It’s kind of what the razor blade companies do. It’s called lock-in. Most of these parts are built so they fit only ‘their’ brand. Therefore the high prices – ZERO COMPETITION in parts. Most people are dumping their projection TV’s that may have a glitch then fix them.

i understand that is COOL to have a flat tv(Wow) but then waht do you do with the rest of you entertainment center. mabye once eveything is flat,small it makes sense but in this day who cares?

I have two DLP TV’s both leave the lamp on for about 5 seconds after the picture is turned off. Surely the DLP chip could survive being turned off after the major heat source is.
Additional, The fan works for about five minutes after the bulb is turned off, surely the bulb would cool down quicker if it was unlit?
