    50″ DLP TV problem. The screen went yellow in the center, and eventually went all yellow. What could this be?
    I can get this on the cheap. But with TVs things are either easy or super expensive. I’ve heard that you can warm up the IC’s and perhaps fix the problem, can anyone assist with advice?

    Additional Details

    I have some additional information on the model and type :

    Hitachi Rear Projection DLP 50V720
    Second number on the model number is v5k011013, year 2005

    Please help, this deal is close to being lost if I don’t act soon.

    Ok so my dad has a 50″ RCA lamp powered tv although it has broken down before from a fuse that short circuted from being disconnected immediately now when i woke up today i turned it on and it made this noise like a rattling noice in the back then the light strated flickering and it just stood like that now i dont know if it’s because sometimes my parents leave it on from amybe 8-2 am please help

    The Tv has a plastic screen cover. I was trying to remove a scratch and used some plastic polish. The screen cover is out of stock. Is there any anti-glare coating that will cover this?

    Hi, I have a Hitachi 50VS810 LCD projection tv. It is 5 years old and is in great shape, tv sold for $2000.00 new (the lamp is only 1 year old). Last lamp lasted 3 years. I now own a Plasma, so I need to sell this one, but I’m not sure how much to ask for it (Craigslist). I haven’t had much luck finding any used ones to get a price idea. Thank You.

    the screen looks like an hour glass slight bowing on the top and slight bowing on the bottom with extreme bowing in the middle. looks a little like this… ) ( … it always go back to this hour glass shape, however i can sometimes kick it directly in the back of the set towards the bottom and it will go back to normal. However it always go back to this convex shap. Im tired of kicking my set. :-) i need help. is this something i can replace myself? thanks jim

    I have a Sony rear-projection tv that I bought off some guy who had posted on Craigslist. And the tv’s great, nice picture, big screen, I think it’s a 52 inch. But, what I didn’t notice when I bought it that the sticker where the model number is usually written is ripped off. That seems kind of suspicious, but it’s been a few months since I bought it and he said he was going to buy a new one and it’s not like we made some kind of an official contract, so ‘returning’ is not an option.

    But well here’s what happened: I think I need to change the lamp because the red ‘Lamp’ light flashes everytime I try to turn it on.

    Only problem is, I don’t know the model number.

    So, if anyone recognizes this tv or has one or knows where to find the model number, I would REALLY appreciate it!! :)
