Sony Bravia E Series TV just gave me an on screen lamp warning. How long before it actually goes out?

I have a Sony Bravia KDF-50E3000 LCD projection TV and I just got the on-screen warning saying the lamp was dying and that I should replace it soon. I called all of the local Sony dealers and none of them have the lamp in-stock.

My question is, how long do I have before the lamp gives up? My screen hasn’t gotten any darker yet, a couple of hours after the warning. The reason I ask is because I want to be able to watch my TV for Monday Night Football. Huge game between the Pats and the Saints :D

I won’t be able to have one shipped in time for this game, so I want to know if I should just buy a new TV or if this lamp is going to last until then. Missing this game is NOT AN OPTION, nor is going to a sports bar.

I need help getting HD on my Mitsubishi HD 1080 series?

I have a wide screen Mitsubishi HD 1080 series projection TV. I have never bothered with getting HD on it but now i would like to be able to watch my dvds in HD. My dvd player only has the RCA component hook ups on them and my tv only has the DVI hook up on it. I understand that only video passes through the DVI i think and i can run a seperate sound cable but i am completely oblivious on what equipment i need and how i need to do this to do it right and get best results. I also have a Yamaha surround system and a vcr but the vcr is not at much concern if it is gonna be a hassle. If anyone could provide any info i would greatly appreciate it. thanx
