I have a big scren that recently has a blue cloud right in the middle of the screen and it’s really annoying. I am wanting to know how much I am looking at into fixing this as this is a great TV and not wanting to get rid of it. What is the cause of this and is it an easy fix? This is not a DLP. This is the old school projection box TV’s, about 5 years old. Thank you!!

I was given a hand down, Samsung PLK435WS Rear Projection LCD. I was told that the “bulb” is brand new, but when I turn the TV on with my my cable box hooked up, the picture is very dark and the colors are way off. It looks like there’s a bright spot on the TV (right in the middle) that seems to dim the rest of the display. It’s very hard to make out lettering and the picture is more vivid and bright on my 20 inch CRT… is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Clean the lamps? Anything at all?

Hello! So I’ve decided to start looking around for the bulb that goes in place of the lamp housing for a Samsung LCD Rear Projection DLP television. Ever since I bought the tv, the lamp seemed to go out every year. What bulb do these tv’s use? My model # HLT5075SX/XAC. and the Lamps model # is BP96-01653A. Thanks in advance.

I got a projection screen tv a while back and all of a sudden the three different colors (red, green, blue) colors seperated. like all three different colors are shadowing each other and creating a bad picture and i cant seem to fix them. the perfect focus button just causes the tv to turn off without doing anything. What needs to be replaced or done to the tv to fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

So I have a 56″ Samsung LCD Projection TV, and just recently 2 days ago the lamp burnt out. I had this tv for about 1-1/2 years and the lamp already burnt. Also throughout my use of this TV, I sometimes can hear little popping noises, almost like the sound u get from when u burn firewood, and u makes the pop/crackle noise. Is there something wrong with my TV? I noticed the lamp went out because on the rear side, where the lamp sits, there used to be a light, but 2 days ago that light no longer lit up. So that’s how I knew. But I don’t get what the noises coming from inside are.
Please no jokes, I’m serious because I spent about $1,000 on this TV and I just don’t get what the noises are!
Thanks in advance!

I can’t seem to find any reviews on this TV. Ciccuit City is using it as a warranty replacement for my old RCA 52″ projection piece of crap. The TV is 50″ 1080p, with a 2500:1 contrast ratio. The only downside I see is s slightly lower contrast ratio compared to the 10000:1 I have been seing on other TV’s. I just wish there were some reviews so I could decide whether I should buy the extended warranty 2 Years -$250 and 5 years – $450.

My friend is giving me his old broken 52′ inch samsung tv for a hundred bucks, the tv is a rear projection and also has 1080p capability. The tv turns on and has a picture but the color is very off with alot of green and a little distorted… He said it could be a converter? Im just not sure what might that part be and is it worth fixing?

Also wondering what people think of 720p vs. 1080p. Is the extra cost worth it?

Except for the big screen and the lifelike image resolution, there are other benefits that a Samsung LCD television can give. One sure advantage is the bright and crisp image resolution that’s akin to nothing.
TVs from the brand also have anti-glare mechanisms which offer almost no glare at all . Not like the usual curved screens, the profile of a flat screen LCD TV won’t catch light from any point of light or direction and will never send glare to its spectators.
usual televisions’ mechanism might be compared with a mirror in that it can be vulnerable to light at certain directions. But modern televisions such as those made by Samsung will not reflect light unless a really strong source of light is placed in that specific direction.
Samsung LCD televisions don’t have the cathode ray tube mechanisms ; what they have is the flat screen technology. In a CRT system, there’s a gun-like machine that shoots electrons at a certain speed on the surface of the television. When an electron hits a surfaces, it glows and brings about a pixel that in turn produces the image.
you will spot the curved screen on a CRT TV. This is required because the depth will position the electron shot so there will be a projected image. On the other hand, a flat screen TV employs a different source of light. It polarizes filters and thin layers of liquid crystals. The thin layer is actually thin making the Samsung LCD TV unit space-efficient.
But then it’s a given fact a flat screen or a Samsung LCD television will be more expensive than a CRT unit. However , the growing demand for LCD TVs made the price cheaper to the consumers. To reach a larger market, manufacturers have dropped their prices in such a manner that patrons from different social standing can afford in purchasing one that fits their budget. Likewise, it is reviewed that patrons can save extra cash in a flat screen television because Samusung LCD televisions are made to consume less electrical energy. Therefore, buyers will save some more cash vis their energy usage bill.
Another advantage of having a flat screen television like that made by Samsung LCD TV is that it offers brighter and more clear picture resolution. Compared to standard TVs, there’s a massive difference in the sharpness and clarity of the photographs. Movie addicts can actually experience true home entertainment with their Samsung LCD television.
