Replacing convergence amps for my TV?

The picture in my TV looks live a 3-D movie. where the colors don’t seem to align. Surfed the web and found out that my convergence amps in my TV were busted up (cos i used the menu on the TV and tried adjusting it but didn’t work ). I have a 42in projection TV. I want to know how much would it cost me to get it fixed and where could i take it to be fixed, also since it is huge and moving it around would be a problem i was wondering if there is any cheap service that could come over and fix the TV. I live in Paramus, Bergen County, NJ

Replacing a ripped projection TV screen?

I need to replace a screen on a rear projection, Mitsubishi TV. The screen was accidentally pushed inwards, and got ripped in the process. The screen seems to be made of some sort of fabric/plastic. How much will it cost me to do that – and is it even possible? The TV functions ok, otherwise.
Oh – the screen is 50 inches wide.

Step-by-step Guide to Replacing a DLP TV lamp

When the images on your screen appear dim, distorted, or discolored, it is a sign that the DLP TV lamp in your TV is damaged and needs to be replaced. The process of TV lamp replacement is simple and can be done at home by following these simple steps.

1. Switch off the TV and unplug the electric cord one and a half hour or two hours before you attempt to replace the DLP TV lamp. This will ensure that the lamp is completely cool when you remove it.

2. Find the door with the bulb and remove the cross-headed screws.

3. Once the panel comes loose and the case housing the rear projection TV lamp becomes visible, slide out the case.

4. Remove the screws at the side of the case and ease off the old lamp.

5. Insert the new projector lamp without touching the lens. It is a delicate job and needs to be done gently and not with force.

6. Once you hear the click, you’ll know that the DLP TV lamp is firmly in place. Now replace the lamp housing unit and your job is done.

But before you set off on the task, buy the correct DLP replacement lamps. The TV replacement lamp you choose should be of the same type and have the same code as the lamp you’re replacing. BulbToGo.com has a wide range of DLP replacement lamps such as OSRAM lamps and you can find just the TV replacement lamp that you are looking for.
