I have a Panasonic projection TV that works great. It’s in the playroom where the kids can pretty much do as they like. While watching movies it looks like there are cobwebs in each of the corners of the screen. Does this mean that there are cobwebs in the rear projection tubes or cobwebs actually behind the front screen? Yes, its about 8 years old and no, I’ve never done any sort of maintenance. Other than the obvious “take it to a professional” answer does anyone know how to possibly blow out the cobwebs? Simply take off the back and see what happens? Thank you.

I bought the tv back in march of 06, and I have not had any problems with it yet. But I have heard people are having lamp issues with it, so I am worried that I may have the same problems. I bought it for 2500, and was wondering if you guys think it was a good deal at the time. I bought it at costco and it came with the stand. I am curious also if that model was the correct one for the time I bought it. Which was march of 06. I hear people saying that they bought there in mid 05, and was wondering if I bought a year old model that I payed the full price for. Anyone who has either bought this tv or has info on it info on it, I would like your thoughts..Thank you very much

My tv looks somewhat like a lava lamp. There are blotches of blue that constantly change in shape and position on my screen. If my TV is displaying a blue still image it will also burn into the screen for about a minute. The color on the TV is perfect. I just wish I could get rid of the blue. This happened right after changing the lamp, but I was told that they were not related. Can anyone google better than me?

The TV has the three colored lamps and is not led. I have had the tv for about 4.5 years. This problem just arose and did not occur over time. It does not have a “lamp module” as some of the newer tv sets do. At least I don’t think it does. I can’t find a part number for one if it does. Is it worth it to fix? In home repair is 80 bucks just to look at it. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Panasonic 51″ rear projection HDTV that has a blurry picture. If it helps to know the model number it’s PT-51HX40B. The TV is about 7 years old now and while it still functions, the picture is getting quite blurry. Text is becoming extremely hard to read as their appears to be red shadow behind any white text I see on the screen. Sometimes the screen will go black for about 5-10 seconds and then will come back on (note the power doesn’t turn off, the screen just goes blank). The TV supports 480i, 480p, and 1080i only. It seems the higher resolution I set it too, the worse it gets. From the sounds of it would it be cheaper to just buy a new HDTV, or would it be worth it to get this one repaired?
