Best Projection TVs

if you got a dlp rear projection that uses lamp then can you tell me how long does your last and how many hours do you usess a bulb to watch tv?

I know pretty much what Im doing, I’ve worked on countless motherboards on computers and consoles before, as long as I can locate what the problem is I can fix it no problem. First question, I need to find a particular part that is broken on my Mitsubishi 50″ projection television; Model # VS-50605 : Serial # 104321 , the part number as listed on the part itself made in mexico is # 295P421A20 which is basically the double coax input from the motherboard, input A was having coax connection problems and then ultimately just ripped off when the cable guy came in and tried to install on the television. I have googled and checked Mitsubishi.tv’s website for the particular part and the only thing that keeps coming up are the projection lamps which are still in good condition on my set. I need help finding that..

and my second question is, right around the same time that this happened, my tv started getting weird and the picture would intermittently start scrolling the picture vertically as if in a pitch roll. Sometimes it would stop if I banged on the back of the television itself, which made me assume it might be a solder problem, but eventually it just stayed that way and its been off the power grid for 4 months until i got around to looking at it. Could this have something to do with that coax input having been ripped out is what I want to know? and what else should I check? All wires and plugs seemed to be in good shape too. Thanks

The colors (Red and Green) are splitting. Its like there is double vision on the TV. Any suggestions?

this projection tv when turned on has sound and a very dark picture, I opened the back of the tv to have a look, noticed that only the blue and the green projection tubes were working, not the red? everything looks to be in tact with no physical damage. what could I do to correct the problem. Im quite knowledgeable with a volt and ohm meter. what are some things I could check. I thought about the hv splitter, but im unsure if that is my first thing to look at, or even how to check it. please help.
I only have $5 invested into it, I dont mind adding a little to that, The size is perfict for my kids and thier video games! I’m a cheap scate when it comes to spending $700 for a tv that we only see the local news on!!
i have my HD converter box connected to it, ie; regular antenna. I am thinking that the red tube is’nt powering on, when I first turned the tv on only the blue was working, then after a few minites I noticed the green (center) tube satarted to work.

Hello people I have a 52″ rca projection tv, but lately my problem with the tv is Im getting distortion image and a 3 lines from side to side blue, green and red, somebody can tell me if this problem is the lamps or may be some fuse.

I changed the lamp to the tv already. It worked for 3months now it is doing the same thing. I already rechecked the lamp and it is stil ok. It will try to power on but the power and lamp button flickers really fast then shuts off. When the tv powers on there seems to be a switching/flickering noise coming from the inside also. Can anyone help?

Sony KDF-60WF655 I knew when I bought this TV that I would have to someday have to change the user-replaceable bulb. I thought it would just go out and the “lamp” light would be red. That’s not what’s happening though. It’s just slowly over time getting darker. I’ve got the brightness maxed out and it’s OK, but it’s not the bright vibrant picture it used to be. Is it a bulb or something needing service?

I need to get an old projection TV into my home. It’s actually an arcade machine with a projection screen & I need to lay it on its side. Is this safe for the lamps inside? My doors aren’t wide enough so I’m going to need to lay it on it’s side in order to get it into the house. I’m just wanting to make sure it’s safe for the lamps.

Okay, I would really love some input from the experts on this one. I have the Sony KDS-R50XBR1 Rear Projection, I believe it was the very first SXRD that Sony made. To my knowledge, the models that followed were not XBR though, which I figured gave my model a little extra edge picture quality wise. Now that its been a few years I was considereing upgrading to the new KDS-55A3000 Model. I’m sure its not going to be a huge difference but I would still like to know what someone with experience with both models thinks. My TV has been ISF calibrated and has a great picture, I was just wondering how much I would gain by going for the newer model. I also remember that my tv was sold as a 1080p set but it actually cannot receive a 1080p signal, however it can display a 1080p signal. I was a little confused by that. But I realize i’d be getting the full 1080p with the newer set, but it may not really be worth if the picture quality isnt much different. Just kinda wanted some feedback.

The TV would be anywhere between 42″ and 50″. Budget is about $1200-1400 max. It is going to be 1080p HD.

1. What is the best kind of television to get on this budget, LCD, Plasma or Rear projection?

2. What is the best brand to go with on this budget? I am doubting the quality of cheaper brands like LG, Dynex and Insignia. Is it better to go with a smaller size but a more upscale brand like Sony?

I’ve read that in order to get the PS3 graphics to look good is to have a 1080p HDMI which I don’t. I’m not going to go out and spend another $1500-2000 for a 42″+ 1080p tv just for the PS3.

I have a Sony up-convert to full 1080p dvd player with HDMI. A Panasonic 56″ full 1080p rear projection tv with HDMI and I have an HDMI connector going from the dvd player to the tv. My question is do I need an HDMI receiver to go along with the other two? I have surround sound to go along with everything but the receiver I am using now is about 5 years old and does not have an HDMI input. o I need a new one? Thanks in advance for the help.
