I bought a mitsubishi vs-4003r tv at a yard sale, only two lamps work need advise?

this projection tv when turned on has sound and a very dark picture, I opened the back of the tv to have a look, noticed that only the blue and the green projection tubes were working, not the red? everything looks to be in tact with no physical damage. what could I do to correct the problem. Im quite knowledgeable with a volt and ohm meter. what are some things I could check. I thought about the hv splitter, but im unsure if that is my first thing to look at, or even how to check it. please help.
I only have $5 invested into it, I dont mind adding a little to that, The size is perfict for my kids and thier video games! I’m a cheap scate when it comes to spending $700 for a tv that we only see the local news on!!
i have my HD converter box connected to it, ie; regular antenna. I am thinking that the red tube is’nt powering on, when I first turned the tv on only the blue was working, then after a few minites I noticed the green (center) tube satarted to work.

Why do rear projection TV’s turn the lamps off after the picture making electronics?

I have two DLP TV’s both leave the lamp on for about 5 seconds after the picture is turned off. Surely the DLP chip could survive being turned off after the major heat source is.
Additional, The fan works for about five minutes after the bulb is turned off, surely the bulb would cool down quicker if it was unlit?

San Diego Distributor of Projection Dlp / LCD Lamps

Today people mostly prefer to use LCD displays than traditional CRT monitors. Moreover, DLP projection TVs and plasma TVs are popular types of TV technologies that are available in market. All these latest technologies guarantee you excellent flexibility and crystal clear picture. Even they are only a few inches thick, LCD, DLP and plasma displays, are still available in wider screen sizes. Today these TV technologies can help you get the best of the 21st century entertainment ventures.

All these new technologies are quite similar to each other when it comes to their features, yet they work on different display mechanisms. LCD, DLP and plasma displays are lightweight, flat screened and can be hung anywhere. But when it comes to picture quality, there is a wide difference between these three. LCD, ie. liquid crystal display screen is manufactured by sandwiching liquid crystals between two thin glass plates. An electric charge, when passed through this liquid crystal sandwich, these liquid crystals, lights up in various colors and produce excellent quality images. On the other hand, in plasma screens, well arranged tiny gas filled cells, are heated by electric charge to produce high quality images.

Apart from these two technologies, DLP TV uses three types of technologies. You can look for one chip, two chip and three chip DLP television sets. Hence many companies install DLPs in their conference room. DLP TVs are well known for their high quality pictures and richness. But the fact is that DLPs are quite costlier than LCDs and plasmas. Therefore, installing a DLP in a house is likely to put extra burden on your pocket as the maintenance cost of DLP is much higher compared with LCDs and plasmas. That is why; LCD or plasma screens can be the best choice for your for offices or homes. If you are worried about sizes, then you will be happy to know that LCDs and plasmas come in large screen sizes as well. So you can easily turn your house into a small home theatre.

All about Compatible Projector Lamps

Projector lamps are characterized based on different types namely, manufacturer original replacement lamps, compatible lamps, and original alternative lamps.

Original Replacement Lamps
The projector replacement lamps produced by the original projector or the rear projection TV manufacturer are called original replacement lamps. These projector lamps are manufactured according to the same standards as that of the original projector or the rear projection TV. The manufacturers do not in any way compromise on the quality of the projector replacement lamps. These lamps are usually produced individually keeping in mind the specifications required by the original projector or the rear projection TV.

Original Alternative Lamps
Original alternative lamps are perfect replacements for manufacturer original replacement lamps. They are cost-effective compared to the original manufacturer replacement lamps. The original alternative projector lamps are manufactured in a high-quality environment and are usually upto the same standards as that of the original replacement lamps.

These replacement projector lamps are manufactured to ISO9001 standards, which ensure a good quality. Original alternative lamps are usually the result of extensive research and testing by several projector lamp experts. They are designed to give high performance levels at low costs.

Compatible Lamps
Compatible lamps are also known as copy lamps. These are usually imported from the grey market and are of unknown manufacturing standard. They also don’t come with any basic warranty. This is because compatible lamps are manufactured by non-regulated companies. They’re packaged in boxes without labels and the prices at which they’re offered are also too low.

So, it’s always better to go for original alternative lamps, if you can’t afford the original replacement lamps. To buy genuine projector replacement lamps or projector bulbs, BulbToGo.com is the ideal place.

Everything about DLP Lamps

Digital Light Processing (DLP) projector is one of the most popular types of video projectors today. Projectors with this technology offer high-fidelity and high-resolution solutions for entertainment as well as work presentations. Hence, they are suitable for both business and home theatre applications. Not only in rear projection TVs, but DLP technology is also used in movie theatres for feature film projection.

In my previous post I had mentioned that a projector has four main components, namely Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) chip, color wheel, light source, and optics. Among these, the DLP TV lamp plays a vital role in the working of a projector. The light from the DLP TV lamp passes through the color wheel, and then to the DMD chip. The DMD chip switches its mirrors on or off depending on the color reflected off them to produce an image.

The life of a projector replacement lamp depends on a lot of factors. Apart from usage, there are other factors that affect the life of a DLP TV lamp. For instance, keeping your projector in a poorly-ventilated area will make the projector replacement lamp hotter and burn out faster. To ensure that these projector TV bulbs have a longer life, it is best to keep them in places with proper ventilation. You must also clean the air filters regularly.

When the images begin to lose their brightness and appear dim, it is a clear indication that it is time to replace your DLP TV lamp. If you’re looking for a place to purchase projector lamps for your TV or projector, then BulbToGo.com is the right place for you.

Abstract A DLP lamp is a vital component in a DLP projector. Simple measures such as keeping the projector or TV in well-ventilated rooms, keeping them away from heat sources, and cleaning air filters regularly, enhance the life of projector lamps. The DLP lamp calls for a replacement when the images on the screen begin to appear dull.
