Hi we have a 50″ 2004 Sony LCD Projection TV and we were told that we need a new LCD Lamp…can someone please tell me where I can get a good deal on these? And if someone else has replaced one themselves…or if we can even do so? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you!
My KDF-50E2000 LCD Rear Projection TV started showing a “your lamp is nearing end of life” error yesterday. How many hours of tv watching do I have left until it completely goes out. Warranty won’t replace it until there’s no picture at all and my warranty runs out Dec 10, 2010
We have a 55″ sony rear projection. while watching it the picture will go out, but there will still be sound. it goes out for a few minutes and then comes back on. if i turn the tv off and back on it takes a few minutes to warm up and after about 2-3 minutes we will have picure again. this happens every 3-4 days and off and on for over 2 and a half months. our manual says that if the bulb is soon to need replacement, a message will pop up every time the TV gets turned on. but in this case there is no message
I have a Toshiba 52HMX95 and I’ve bought a new lamp 3 times (another one I got free with my warranty) and I’m pretty pissed that I bought a projection TV because I bought this in 2005-2006 for $3600 including warranty (which doesn’t even cover the lamps…) and taxes. It’s not sold for $800. I barely used it because I was scared it would break again, I used it maybe 10 hours a week and used the low power setting but it STILL broke after 5-6 months. Any idea why this is happening??
I have a Sony Grand Wega KF-42WE610.. It’s some rear projection LCD/HD TV thing. The lamp burned out a few days ago so I bought a replacement. It took about two days for the replacement bulb to get to me. The tutorials I looked up suggested I have a pair of pliers and a philips screwdriver handy, which I do, but apparently I also need a hex key to pull the lamp outta the TV to begin with. According to the TV instruction manual the replacement was supposed to come with the hex key to help me take it out. Unfortunately I don’t have the right sized one in my dad’s toolbox either, but I’m hoping I can pick one up somewhere small enough to fit. Would anyone out there know or have an idea of what size I’m looking for specifically so I know what to buy? Or how to find out? And heck, where I can buy one would help too. I’m tired of sitting around waiting for stuff to come in the mail.
Also, is there like, a ghetto approach to removing these screws that I can use? I’m kinda desperate.
Is it difficult to replace the lamp, on my 46″ Toshiba HD DLP Projection TV? It looks easy, but is it really? I know that this bu;b is NOT cheap!
Thanks for your answers. Bulb was easy to get out. Have a 46HM94 Toshiba. Got bulb out fine. Now…having hard time locating new bulb. Direct from Toshiba, is too expensive. TV tech, is working on location of replacement lamp. We know it’s around $200
I replaced the the projection lamp in my 42 inch Sony Grand Wega LCD (kdf42e2000) and the projection lamp nearing end of life message came back on and the tv quit working, flashing red like it did when the original one went out. Other than the possibility of my new replacement lamp being defective, any suggestions?
We have a Hitachi 55″ rear projection tv and the lamp has gone out. Cheapest I can find is $125 online. However there is someone giving away a 52″ mitsubishi on freecycle that needs work (picture is jumping). Not knowing if that has to do with a lamp, I wonder if we could use the lamp from their tv in ours?
I am looking for a lamp replacement for my 53 inch projection screen Mitsubishi t.v. Does any one know of a cheaper place to go without having to buy from the manufacturer?
i have a old Sony rear projection TV. the model is KP-57HW40. And its lamp has some problems. I want to change a new lamp, but I can’t find any store that sells the lamp for this model. Where can I buy it ? thank you!
