Sony 3 LCD projection Tv – Are there any problems?
I’m thinking of buying a Sony 3LCD projection TV with a Bravia Engine. The model is KF42E200A. I’m just worried about two thing…
1. Will green blobs or other blobs pop up on the screen, which then have to be fixed expensively.
2. With optimum contrast settings, how long can I expect my lamp to last? How much will it cost? It appears that Sony does not advertise lamp costs to an unsuspecting customer even when that customer enquires. They give approximate costs only.
But I like this Tv a lot and want to buy it. Price/Size/Picture Quality factor is v.good.

For question no 1 really sorry I don’t know what exactly blob you are referring to. But if this a weird color appearing in the screen, yes it’s going to be very expensive cause you need to change the optical block. The lamp can hold around 2-3 years usage, if you set the contrast and brightness max the lamp will die faster.
For the lamp usually there’s a warranty 500 hours and/or 3 month usage. but this can be vary depends which company that sell and give warranty for this unit.
