I have a 60″ rear projection Philips TV 6 years old. There was a pop and smoke and TV went off. A capacitor (820pf 2000volt) was burned out so I replaced it. TV now comes on and has sound but no picture. Any guesses as to problem. Is it worth getting an estimate on fixing it? THANKS for any help!

Hi, I have a Hitachi 50VS810 LCD projection tv. It is 5 years old and is in great shape, tv sold for $2000.00 new (the lamp is only 1 year old). Last lamp lasted 3 years. I now own a Plasma, so I need to sell this one, but I’m not sure how much to ask for it (Craigslist). I haven’t had much luck finding any used ones to get a price idea. Thank You.

I have a 56″ samsung dlp tv and the picture is shifted about 2 in to the left. It is not a setting in the tv it is the actual “projection” is aimed to the left. Anyone know how this is adjusted? Is it the lamp, the actual projector..or ??? Any info would be great!

I have a 52 inch RCA P52960 projection screen tv.The picture is wide at the top and almost normal at the bottom.It did this on its own…any ideas on what could be the problem causing this?

The TV is a panasonic, and we recently just moved it so I am not sure what the problem is with this can some one give me some advice on how to fix it or get it fixed.

I have a Sony 46″ rear projection tv and the screen is in great condition. However, we are having a child soon and figured to protect it I should get one of those big screen tv protectors…Where do you buy these?? I can’t find any stores in my area, and I’d rather check it out and buy in person than online, and end up with the wrong size/screen or whatever…

I know pretty much what Im doing, I’ve worked on countless motherboards on computers and consoles before, as long as I can locate what the problem is I can fix it no problem. First question, I need to find a particular part that is broken on my Mitsubishi 50″ projection television; Model # VS-50605 : Serial # 104321 , the part number as listed on the part itself made in mexico is # 295P421A20 which is basically the double coax input from the motherboard, input A was having coax connection problems and then ultimately just ripped off when the cable guy came in and tried to install on the television. I have googled and checked Mitsubishi.tv’s website for the particular part and the only thing that keeps coming up are the projection lamps which are still in good condition on my set. I need help finding that..

and my second question is, right around the same time that this happened, my tv started getting weird and the picture would intermittently start scrolling the picture vertically as if in a pitch roll. Sometimes it would stop if I banged on the back of the television itself, which made me assume it might be a solder problem, but eventually it just stayed that way and its been off the power grid for 4 months until i got around to looking at it. Could this have something to do with that coax input having been ripped out is what I want to know? and what else should I check? All wires and plugs seemed to be in good shape too. Thanks

I have a Sony KP-46WT510 Projection TV with a crack in the outer plastic screen…A dart, yes a dart, was thrown through the plastic screen and now I need to replace it. I’ve found the part online and now i’m wondering if it’s better to have someone service it or if it is possible to replace myself.

I’d obviously like to save $100 by doing it myself but if it’s too difficult then I’ll have to pay.

Anyone have an idea how hard this is?

A few months ago, blue started sprouting from the bottom of the screen and slowly spreading upward. When I turn off the TV for a while, the blue is less when I turn the TV back on. The blue ruins the quality of the picture and makes everything slightly blue.

I tried replacing the lamp in the TV, but that didn’t work. I haven’t tried replacing the crystal, but i’m not even sure if that’s possible. What is wrong with my tv? Is it permanent?

The colors (Red and Green) are splitting. Its like there is double vision on the TV. Any suggestions?

this projection tv when turned on has sound and a very dark picture, I opened the back of the tv to have a look, noticed that only the blue and the green projection tubes were working, not the red? everything looks to be in tact with no physical damage. what could I do to correct the problem. Im quite knowledgeable with a volt and ohm meter. what are some things I could check. I thought about the hv splitter, but im unsure if that is my first thing to look at, or even how to check it. please help.
I only have $5 invested into it, I dont mind adding a little to that, The size is perfict for my kids and thier video games! I’m a cheap scate when it comes to spending $700 for a tv that we only see the local news on!!
i have my HD converter box connected to it, ie; regular antenna. I am thinking that the red tube is’nt powering on, when I first turned the tv on only the blue was working, then after a few minites I noticed the green (center) tube satarted to work.

My husband and I are looking at getting a new and larger TV. One that cought our eye was the 50in Hitachi HD LCD rear projection TV. Is this a good model? Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with one? How often do the lamps go out in them? What is the picture quality like? The one we saw was priced at $1190, is that reasonable? Sorry to post so many questions, I just want to make sure that we will get our monies worth. Thanks – Sara

All of sudden one day my screen went blue. I can only turn the tv off by unplugging the tv fromt the outlet. I tried calling service companies though they seem to know what it is they will not tell me. And since I live on the second floor they want me to bring the tv in. Too big.. Anyone have an idea what I can check maybe. As the service companies even gave me a price on fixing it. So I figured they already know what the problem is, without even looking at it.

A friend put my Wii remote through the plastic screen on the outside of the TV.

the screen looks like an hour glass slight bowing on the top and slight bowing on the bottom with extreme bowing in the middle. looks a little like this… ) ( … it always go back to this hour glass shape, however i can sometimes kick it directly in the back of the set towards the bottom and it will go back to normal. However it always go back to this convex shap. Im tired of kicking my set. i need help. is this something i can replace myself? thanks jim
