I was given a hand down, Samsung PLK435WS Rear Projection LCD. I was told that the “bulb” is brand new, but when I turn the TV on with my my cable box hooked up, the picture is very dark and the colors are way off. It looks like there’s a bright spot on the TV (right in the middle) that seems to dim the rest of the display. It’s very hard to make out lettering and the picture is more vivid and bright on my 20 inch CRT… is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Clean the lamps? Anything at all?

We have a 55″ sony rear projection. while watching it the picture will go out, but there will still be sound. it goes out for a few minutes and then comes back on. if i turn the tv off and back on it takes a few minutes to warm up and after about 2-3 minutes we will have picure again. this happens every 3-4 days and off and on for over 2 and a half months. our manual says that if the bulb is soon to need replacement, a message will pop up every time the TV gets turned on. but in this case there is no message

I have Samsung Rear Projection TV. The picture quality is good but the colors are off (blue appears green). I did the red convergence. When I try to do the blue convergence the blue line never appears, regardless of me trying to make it appear.
Does this mean the blue lamp is out altogether? Thanks.
I know think that the blue is working, but there is no white. There appears to be an abundance of yellow and I believe that is causing most blues to appear green. How can I reduce the yellow? Bye the way, I am able to do the red convergence up down and left right, but on blue convergence no blue ever shows up. There is no green convergence on this Samsung. Also when attempted to tint the colors the only choices are green to red, there is no blue on that, not sure if that is normal.

55 inch Mitsubishi Widescreen projection HDTV has convergence issues and a lamp going, the cost to fix is about $400 but replacing it is about $1300 if going to a 55 inch 1080p
Should i keep old tech running or upgrade to the new stuff at this point

Other tvs in house connected to cable on that channel have no problems. What is the problem? tv or cable box? This model of tv has problems with the lamp and the ballast, but that does not seem to be the problem…Help
it is hooked up to a cable box and vcr/dvd player recorder. the channel that is not working right is channel 9.

My television just started doing this and when I view the Comcast guide section showing me the different shows available, I can not see the bottom listed show. Also, when watching a show on TV, it will occasionally cut off the top of a persons head only showing the forehead down. Is there a button or switch to adjust this? I have looked at the TV menu and nothing seems to help.

The Tv has a plastic screen cover. I was trying to remove a scratch and used some plastic polish. The screen cover is out of stock. Is there any anti-glare coating that will cover this?

My cable service tech confirmed the problem is not with the cable or converter box, nor any of my attached components (DVD, VCR, etc.) The channel display appears briefly on the screen, but no picture. I have had the projection bulbs/lamps cleaned by a technician regularly since 1994. Picture and sound were of good quality until just yesterday……no gradual deterioration. I suspect it is time to “move on” from my big box TV rather than spend $200-$300 (or more) to repair it. Your thoughts and advice would be appreciated.
