Looking to buy two LCD TVs 20″-27″ and 42″-47″. I was hoping for some help please on options, brands, etc

I am pretty sure I’m going to get an LCD for the smaller set, because I haven’t seen a plasma in the 20–27″ range (too small I quess?).
As for the 42″+ set I’m looking for a plasma or LCD. Leaning toward LCD because it seems to have less glare, and richer color spectrum (though many may dissagree.)

First of all I’m not interested in projection, DLP, or tube sets.

Anyway, here’s my questions for those knowledgable about new TV’s. Thank you very much in advance:
1. Plasma or LCD?
2. HDTV w/ 1080, a necessary? For now or the near future?
3. Is 1080 i or 1080p better? (I read that the “i & p” represent it’s the way pixels are laid out on the screen. proggresive or interlaced.) I saw JPEGS of how each one works. It said that “proggresive was smoother , but never really mention if was was better, or newer, or considerd superior?
4) I was also wonderig about people’s fav brands or if they own one, how they like it, etc – tnx

Just purchased a 42 inch 1080p LG LCD w/ home theater system (incl. upgraded DVD player) and installation for $1,999. I am thrilled with the TV. I would go 1080p to assure it handles ‘future technology’. Everything I was reading said go LCD.

Very best bang for the buck, as far as your question goes, is a Panasonic 42″ plasma. If you really want more definitive info, go to:
