Well, there are 3 different types of signals on CABLE, satellite uses All Digital transmission to your Box….

    On Cable there is:
Analog signal – Low Definition >> This will be a noisy/snowy Low Definition Signal that generally degrades in about 3 months due to oxidation of inside/outside connections…It’ll look perfect for about 3 months.

Digital signal – Low Definition >> This will be a NOISE FREE Low Definition signal (generally these station numbers are 100 and above, Analog signals are LESS than 100)

Digital signal – Hi Definition >> This is NOISE FREE and High Definition Signal….Best Signal above all…..BUT To get TRUE HD….
You will need to use the HDMI output on the back of your Cable box….your next BEST connection is using the 5-wire COMPONENT output on your Cable Box.

Also NOTE….CABLE may compress the HD SIGNAL to save bandwidth….compression can result in the background picture loosing some detail….BUT WHO watches the background on TV shows, we normally watch what’s happening in the Center/Foreground….But some of my customers bitch about it.
