HELP! ok I bought the samsung 50inch dlp hdtv (projection) I had it installed with regulard standard direct tv
well the picture I have to say looks horrible. Even when I plug in my dvd player (which is not hd, its cheap) my dvd picture looks horrible. How can I make the picture look better

You can play with the settings, you may have the resolution too high right now. Your best bet is to order the hd service so that you can get the most out of your tv….also you may need a dvd player with more resolotion capabilities…some of the older models were not up to date with current technology..

the directv clowns installed it WRONG… they take the easy way out!
you NEED to go HDMI or (HDMI->DVI)
You probably got component or even worse s-video!
the HD DVR will give you glorious HD on the 150 channels … errr… dozen channels.
and make sure you have it set at 720 for a 720 line set or 1080 for a 1080 line set.
