Does anyone know how to get into the service menu for the Sony Wide Screen Projection TV model # KP-51WS500? I want to get in there so that I can perform manual convergence. The stupid Flash convergence is useless. I know that there is some particular key sequence on the remote control that will get you in but I don’t remember what it is.

I’m looking for a 46″ or 50″ big screen TV. My budget is around $900 – $1100. I’m not to concerned with the type of TV, wether it’s LCD, Plasma or Projection. Although, this new TVs main purpose is for gaming, so it must have HDMI and at least 720p. I’m also worried about latency as I’ve read that some newer televisions can be a little slow to display the image due to the image processing that takes place. Does anyone have any good recomendations as to a tv brand or type that fills all these criteria and is within my budget? I’m not opposed to purchasing online although I still want to stay within my budget after tax and shipping fees.

There is a light that comes on and under that light it says LAMP. What does this mean and how the HECK do I fix this problem? I was told it is something with the bulbs. If thats the case is this something I can fix on my own and is it expensive?

my husband and i have a 42″ projection screen tv with an entertainment center. we need it shipped from beverly,ma to waverly,oh. packaged it would be about 50″ long,30″wide and 48″tall. it also weighs about 60 lbs.(im guessing) we also are planning on getting insurance for it. we value the tv at about $2000 but it may be less
what would be the best and cheapest way to ship it?
we do not want to get rid of the tv.our plan is to ship the tv here and get rid of the tv we have now since we pay on it through rent to own which would also lower our payments on everything else we’re paying on

I have a RCA P52960 52 inch TV (at leats I think that’s the model). It is an old, traditional big screen TV that uses projection, lamps/bulbs.. The picture is white, it looks faded. I have tried the settings, but it doesn’t help. Even in the dark, it still looks too light. Do I need to dust the inside? IF so, can I use an air brush w/compressor to blow air in, instead of using my hands? That way I don’t disturb the bubls or anything… Help!
Someone just gave me the TV, so I haven’t had it long. Adjusting contrast/color/darkness doesn’t work.

I have a Sony KF-55E200A TV (Rear projection) that uses a Sony XL-2400 lamp. The TV has been purchased recently and has run for around 100-200 hours.
I have recently started hearing a faint buzzing sound from behind the TV and seems to be more intense on the side of the lamp. I first thought it to be the fan sound. Today when I switched off the TV, I realized that the sound was related to the lamp somehow. As soon as I switched off the TV, the sound stopped. The fan was still working. The fans stopped after a couple of minutes.
What can be the cause of the sound? Is it something harmful? How to remove this buzzing sound?

Looking to buy a new tv, but want one that won’t die or be obsolete in 5 years. I’ve heard repairs on DLP are cheaper than most.

Which is best for the money? I’ve narrowed it down to the KDL-52XBR4, KDL-52W3000, and KDS-60A3000. The KDL-52XBR4 and KDL-52W3000 seem almost identical. Are the minor differences worth the extra $500? Also, the KDS-60A3000 is the biggest and cheapest out of these. But is it really true that for rear projection tv’s the bulb needs to be replaced every couple of years?
